Contact Info
Keep it to the essentials: name, one email, one phone, one or two relevant links. Nothing else.
Contact info exists to get you contacted. It's not a place to prove you're thorough; a cluttered header is often the first thing that makes a resume look dated.
The short list
- Full name
- One professional email address (not the one from school)
- A phone number recruiters can actually reach you on
- City and region (a full street address isn't necessary)
- LinkedIn and/or a portfolio/GitHub link, only if they're current and worth a click
What to leave out
Skip a full mailing address, date of birth, or marital status (see Photos in the Design pillar for that discussion too). None of it helps a hiring decision, and in some regions it can create legal risk for the employer, who then just discards the resume rather than deal with it.
